Family Time!

Happy Monday! Louie and Marianne were able to spend the weekend in Southern California participating in a Cancer Walk celebrating their sister Huyen beating breast cancer and enjoying time surrounded by family. It was a meaningful and emotional time as Louie and Marianne walked hand in hand, Louie was walking as both a cancer survivor and a fighter. God was so present and continues to show up in so many little ways, reminding them of the ways He is already using this battle for His glory!

It was such a blessing to spend time sitting together as a family in the presence of Jesus, praying for and ministering to each other. God is so good, to show us a glimpse of His great love for us through the people He gives us here on Earth. It can be overwhelming to try and comprehend how big and deep and unending His love for us is. We are thankful to see a snippet of that through family and friends who love us so well.

The ones who stand in the gap and pray big prayers. Who call or text a word of encouragement. Who show up in the hard times and in the good. Who go above and beyond to be sure we are taken care of when we need it most.

Thank you Jesus for the people you have placed in Louie and Marianne's life. We pray a multitude of blessings over their lives and the lives of their loved ones. Pour out your goodness and grace over them!

Here are some specific ways we would love for you to continue to pray:

-Pray for Louie and Marianne at noon on Thursday. They will be meeting with the Tumor Board for a surgery consultation. Pray for God to give the team wisdom, that they would have eyes to see all of the important details about Louie's case, for open minds to see all possible options, and confidence to move forward with what is best for Louie. Pray for Louie and Marianne to have peace and rest as they wait for this appointment. That they would not waver in their faith that God is absolutely in control! He can and will work everything for their good, because they love Him and are called according to His purpose!

-Pray that the cancer will stay put and that the cancer cells would not multiply, that they would shrink in the name of Jesus! Louie's doctor reported the good news this evening that the PET scan did not show any distant metastasis, that the cancer has only spread to the neck nodes on both sides. Let's stand together in prayer and ask God to touch Louie's mouth and neck and bring healing that only He can. Ask that He would use the doctors and treatments available to bring healing to Louie's body. That Louie would remain strong, energized, and ready to fight this battle with all of us surrounding Him!

Love you all, thank you for praying!

Phillipians 4: 6-7

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Calling All Prayer Warriors

Happy Friday friends and family,

Sara here! I have the honor of having Louie as my bonus Dad and am writing this post on behalf of Louie and Marianne. This is definitely not something I thought I would ever need to do again, but here we are. We know that God is never surprised and never caught off guard, but we are only human. We are thankful to serve a God who loves us and understands the complexity of our emotions as we walk through trials in this life.

Before we get into the update, I would love for each of you to head over to https://louiesroad.blogspot.com and be reminded of the battle God already won in Louie's life 11 years ago when he was healed of Stage 4 Parotid Gland Cancer. We need to walk into this new season overflowing with faith, hope, and as warriors of prayer. God is more than able to do what we ask of Him, so let's rally together as one body and storm the gates of Heaven with our prayers!

Over the past 6 months Louie has been struggling with some speech issues, jaw pain, difficulty swallowing, and other symptoms related to his mouth. At first, they suspected it had to do with some dental work Louie had done. After the issues continued to increase, Louie and Marianne sought out specialists to find answers. They recently got the news that the cause was squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue. Louie has already had a biopsy, CT, MRI, and PET scan since receiving this news.

Louie's medical team met yesterday to discuss a plan, the staging, and to gather all of the information to pass along to Louie and Marianne. In this waiting period we are asking for all of you to pray without ceasing. Our most powerful weapon is the power of prayer and we know that God absolutely hears each and every one. With that knowledge, we should approach the throne room full of confidence, knowing that our Lord cares so so deeply. Even if it has been awhile since you have prayed or if prayer isn't something you have done before, we ask that you join us. God is always ready to accept His children with open arms, He loves you and delights in you! Louie and Marianne's prayer is that every person that reads this will seek God and grow closer in their relationship with Him.

Thank you for your love, prayers, and continued support of Louie and Marianne. They have the biggest hearts for Jesus and for people and to know them is to love them! We will keep you updated as we have new information so that we can pray specifically and intentionally.

The Joy of the Lord is my Strength
